 10月25日讯 日前，受美中关系全国委员会邀请，姚明和麦迪一同出席美中人民对话论坛。 麦迪所在的经纪公司Wasserman沃瑟曼体育官博写道：“10月23-24日，我司合作篮球名人堂巨星，麦迪受美中关系全国委员会（The National Committee on United States-China Relations）的邀请，在美国纽约出席了美中人民对话论坛（U.S.-China People’s Dialogue）。麦迪作为美国体育界的嘉宾，与中国嘉宾、中国篮协主席姚明和其他嘉宾就中美关系及未来展望开展了深度交流。中美政要对本次活动发来了贺电，美国前国务卿基辛格和现任中国驻美大使谢峰到场致辞。”
